Our company history is rooted in hard work, customer service and innovation. Our business is not about the vehicles we operate and manage. Our business is all about servicing you – our customer – the best possible way we can.
As our business grows and as we continue to serve your needs, we have come to realize that in order to reach the “next level” we must do more. Our customers deserve more, our industry deserves more – but most of all, our planet deserves more. We understand that for our company to continue being successful we must make a serious commitment to do our part in preserving the planet.
As part of our Green plan, we strongly support the implementation of a carbon tax by the Government of British Columbia. The following is information on the Carbon Tax which was introduced in July of 2008:
- British Columbia is the first jurisdiction in North America to introduce a consumer-based carbon tax.
- It applies to all fossil fuels including gasoline, diesel, natural gas, and propane.
- The purpose of a carbon tax is both to change consumer behavior and set aside a fund to help smooth the transition to a cleaner economy.
- Designed to be revenue-neutral, the tax will return all of the generated income in the form of tax cuts and environmental rebates to the taxpayers.
Therefore, Griffin Transportation Services Inc has officially rolled out an ambitious and aggressive plan for a “green” and Environmentally Sustainable business. We have created and are now following a strategic Emissions Reduction Plan to reduce the GHG emissions expelled by our fleet and facilities. Our plan includes:

- The adoption of fuel efficiency technologies as needed
- The transformation of our business operations to reduce electricity consumption
- Ongoing measurement, auditing and reporting of our results
- The introduction of a luxury hybrid SUV (GMC Yukon) and full size luxury Flex Fuel SUVs (Ford Expedition Max) and our commitment to increase the number of hybrid and flex fuel vehicles in our expanding fleet.
- Commitment to the 3R’s – Reduce, Reuse and Recycle
- A reduction in overall use of printing materials and office supplies and paper-usage through electronic communication with our clients and staff, electronic billing.
- Reuse of scrap paper for printing purposes.
- Ensure that all recyclable materials are recycled and disposed of properly.
