  1. CIRCLE CRAFT CHRISTMAS MARKET

You can experience the Christmas spirit a little earlier this year, in Vancouver, since the Circle Craft prepares for its 43rd annual market. Over 300 different artisans and vendors from all across Canada participate in this event that covers everything from pottery to fashion or craft distilleries. Here you will find more than 50 new vendors to the market, alongside the many acknowledged artisans.

Time frame: November 9 to 11, 10 am to 9 pm; November 12, 10 am to 7 pm; November 13, 10 am to 5 pm.

Location: Vancouver Convention Centre West, 1055 Canada Place

Entrance fee: $15 for adults, $12 for both seniors and students. If you decide to buy online, you'll save $2.

 

  1. CHRISTMAS AT HYCROFT

If you decide to visit the Hycroft Edwardian mansion during the holidays, prepare to be amazed once you’ll see that all its three floors are decked out in the holiday spirit. You will also find a multitude of unique boutiques and crafters and 25 local artisans. The manor's courtyard will home plenty of activities and entertainment, including Emelle’s Catering Trailer.

Time frame: Thursday, November 17  to Saturday, November 19 from 11 am to 9 pm; Sunday, November 20 from 11 am to 6 pm.

Location: Hycroft Manor – 1489 McRae Avenue, Vancouver

Entrance fee: $15 admission, kids 13 and under that age, free of charge.

 

  1. DUNBAR HOLIDAY CRAFT FAIR

The 34th annual Dunbar Holiday Craft Fair will be huge since it brings together 140 local artisans, various entertainers, thousands of handmade crafts and lots of prizes. Annually, there are more than 2,000 participants, eager to taste the heavenly cakes, cookies, jams, and jellies. There are also beautiful gifts to pick for your family and friends.

Time frame: Saturday, November 26 from 10 am to 5 pm.

Location: Dunbar Community Centre – 4747 Dunbar Street, Vancouver

Entrance fee: $5 admission at the fair, $4 online.

 

  1. KENSINGTON HOLIDAY CRAFT FAIR

Another interesting event is the 9th Annual Holiday Craft Fair that takes place at Kensington Community Centre and features lots of holiday gifts and stocking fillers, created by the talented local artisans. There's also a raffle and door prizes for the participants. This fair also provides free parking.

Time frame: Saturday, December 3 from 10 am to 4 pm.

Location: Kensington Community Centre – 5175 Dumfries Street, Vancouver

Entrance fee: Free admission.

 

  1. VANCOUVER CHRISTMAS MARKET

The 7th annual authentic German-inspired Christmas Market represents the perfect way to get into the holiday spirit. This market brings you a variety of traditional food and drinks and lots of interesting items to purchase: authentic wood carvings and toys, nutcrackers, pottery, knitted goods and other one-of-a-kind gifts. Your children will benefit from plenty specific activities and also of the opportunity to ride downtown Vancouver’s only Christmas Carousel.

Time frame: Saturday, November 26 to Saturday, December 31,  open daily from 11 am to 9 pm (closes at 6 pm on Christmas Eve; closed on Christmas Day).

Location: Jack Poole Plaza – 1055 Canada Place, Vancouver

Entrance fee: $8 per person and $4 for kids; all types of tickets available online.

 

  1. STRATHCONA WINTER CRAFT FAIR

The Strathcona Winter Craft Fair is a unique event which gives 15% of its tables, free of charge, to non-profit vendors. Here, among the participants, you will also find artists representing Eastside communities and Vancouver’s Strathcona. This fair supports especially the local vendors and beginner artists. You benefit from free parking via Pender Street at Princess Avenue.

Time frame: Saturday, November 26 from 10 am to 4 pm.

Location: Strathcona Community Centre Gymnasium – 601 Keefer Street, Vancouver

Entrance fee: $2 at the door, kids under 12 have free admission.

 

  1. TOQUE FUNDRAISER AND CRAFT FAIR

This annual craft fair represents a fundraising occasion for Western Front. Gathering a variety of BC artists and artisans, it attracts more than 2,000 visitors every year. All the funds from TOQUE are used to support the music programs, active throughout the year, at Western Front. In 2016, among the impressive collection of vendors, are the following: the Capilano Tea House, Nepheliad, Tony Dubroy, tuk + Milo, Carrall St. Canvas Co. and Wasted Effort. During the opening night, there will be a barbecue accompanied by drinks.

Time frame: Friday, December 2 from 6 to 10 pm, Saturday, December 3 from 11 am to 5 pm; Sunday, December 4 from 11 am to 5 pm.

Location: Luxe Hall at Western Front – 303 East 8th Avenue, Vancouver

Entrance fee: By donation

 

  1. MAKE IT! HOLIDAY SHOW

This show represents an entertaining, cheerful shopping experience that involves artists, crafters, and manufacturers from all over Canada. More than 265 exhibitors display their amazing handcrafted items, hoping to impress the visitors. You will also find a beer garden, food trucks, and live music. The show also has a section dedicated to a silent auction with items donated by vendors. The amount of money raised will go to the Union Gospel Mission. Parking for this market costs $12.

Time frame: Thursday, December 8 and Friday, December 9 from 11 am to 9 pm; Saturday, December 10 from 10 am to 6 pm; Sunday, December 11 from 11 am to 5 pm.

Location: The PNE Forum – 2901 East Hastings Street, Vancouver

Entrance fee: $7 at the door, free admission for kids 12 and under this age.

 

  1. CRAFTY AFFAIRE HOLIDAY MARKET

The Crafty Affaire Holiday market showcases special and modern handmade items, alongside some vintage valuables. Food trucks and hot beverages will be at your disposal in this market.

Time frame: Saturday, December 17 from 10 am to 5 pm.

Location: Croatian Cultural Centre – 3250 Commercial Drive, Vancouver

Entrance fee: $2 admission, kids under 12 have free admission.

 

  1. SHINY FUZZY MUDDY

The annual edition of this Vancouver-based artisan gathering brings to the public attention all sorts of handmade goods and items for the holiday season. This show intends to discover new artists but also to connect guests with the talented artisans from their community.

Time frame: Saturday, December 10 from 11 am to 7 pm; Sunday, December 11 from 10 am to 6 pm.

Location: Heritage Hall – 3102 Main Street, Vancouver

Entrance fee: $3 admission.
