4 Reasons to Visit the Vancouver in the Winter

The Ultimate in Safety, Service and Satisfaction

Although it's famous for its summertime activities, the Sunshine Coast is also a great winter destination despite its nickname.

Vancouver is the perfect location for a winter weekend getaway. Read on to find out some of the reasons.

THE MOUNTAINS

The city of Vancouver is considered to be one of the most charming cities in the world! Have you seen the amazing North Shore Mountains covered in glazy snow?

Those who prefer skying can choose one of the many ski resorts, easily accessible from downtown Vancouver, like Grouse, Cypress, and Seymour. You can also visit Whistler, the town that hosted the 2010 Winter Olympics. You can reach it after a two-hour drive away, right at the end of the amazingly Sea to Sky Highway.

VANCOUVER CHRISTMAS MARKET

This event is open to the public from November 26th to December 30th, gathering 50,000 sq ft of Christmas extravaganza. This German-inspired festivity includes delicious food and drinks, a colorful decor and plenty of gifts, all contributing to a great cultural experience.

THIS YEAR, THE MARKET WILL BE MOVING FROM ITS ORIGINAL HOME AT THE QUEEN ELIZABETH THEATRE PLAZA.

The market will have a much bigger and better seaside site, being situated at the Jack Poole Plaza, surrounding the 2010 Olympic Cauldron.

POLAR BEAR SWIM

Vancouver hosts one of the largest and oldest Polar Bear Swims worldwide. More than 2,550 swimmers took the plunge, in 2015, in the West End’s English Bay, on New Year’s Day. The event starts at 2:30 pm but the brave participants arrive much earlier to catch up, tell stories and take photographs.

EASTSIDE CULTURE CRAWL

On November 17th it begins a four-day visual art, design, and crafts festival called the Culture Crawl. The event occupies all the area bordered by Columbia Street, Victoria Drive and the waterfront in Vancouver. The art on display is diverse, the artists are eclectic and the installations simply amazing. You should visit the studios to live an extraordinary experience, often accompanied by loud music, free stuff and lots of psychedelic visuals.
