Canada Day events in Vancouver 2017

The Ultimate in Safety, Service and Satisfaction

What better way to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday than with free, live music from some of the best-known bands around. The Rotary Club of Lions Gate is sponsoring the live event that includes music and fireworks at Waterfront Park. Waterfront Park is ideal for a celebration, with its grassy surface and its picturesque skyline. The festivities begin at 6:30 p.m and run until 10:30 p.m. This event is one of the largest Celebrations in Vancouver. Some of the bands performing that evening are:

The Powder Blues Band- The show headliner

Arrival- A Vancouver-based band

Dreams- A Fleetwood Mac band

There will also be an afternoon musical event which includes Tiller’s Folley, Marcus Mosley Chorale, and Apollo’s Crush.

Canada Day Picnic

West Vancouver holds a red and white picnic at John Lawson Park on July 1, 2017. The Picnic starts at 2:00 p.m. and ends at 10:30 p.m. Picnic goers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and picnics. In the evening hours, there is a live concert. There will also be a citizenship ceremony, an official ceremony, and singing of O Canada. The event concludes with a spectacular fireworks event at 10:30 p.m. In addition, there will be kids activities starting at 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. The park has a fantastic play area children will love.

Parade

What better way to celebrate Canada Day than with a grand parade. The parade is known for celebrating multiculturalism, diversity, and the connection that all Canadians share. The parade starts at West Georgia and Broughton Streets. The event acts as the grande finale for the two-day celebration. The parade is free to all.

Fireworks

The best day to enjoy the Canada Day fireworks will be Saturday. July 1. There will be a 2 barge fireworks presentation. 1 barge will be located in Dundarave in Western Vancouver, and the 2nd barge will be located in Coal Harbour in downtown. The best viewing areas for the fireworks will be West Vancouver seawall, Crab Park, Harbour Green Park, Coal Harbour and Stanley Park. The event promises to be amazing.

Horseshoe Bay Event

Horseshoe Bay Park will be hosting a live musical event celebrating Canadian women in song. The event will be held July 1, 2017, from 7:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. The musical headliners include Joni Mitchell, Sarah McLachlan, and Ann Murray. There will also be tributes to the Tragically Hip and Leonard Cohen. Attendees should bring a blanket or lawn chair.
