Summer partying is pretty much the norm when you have such fine weather and with 2018’s Labour Day just around the corner, you can definitely expect that weekend to bring about some of the hottest events of the year.

This long Labour Day weekend is a great time to head to Minoru Park for the Richmond World Festival. What’s a summer bash without visiting Nikkei Matsuri, one of the best Japanese festivals in Vancouver? There will be tons of free activities taking place both outdoors and indoors, and you’ll also get to enjoy a Game Zone, the Matsuri Marketplace, and many other types of performances. If you’re into Japanese food (especially the fried and grilled variety), this is the place to fill your tummy!

Pacific National Exhibition (“the PNE”)

There’s plenty to see, hear and participate in this year as well, and it’s well worth braving the hundreds of thousands of people all going with the same aim in mind: to have a whale of a time with friends and family. It’s definitely the best fair deal in the whole of Canada, and with activities such as Kidz Discovery Farm, the SuperDogs, tons of carnival rides and music concerts, you can tell it’s something worth attending.

Richmond Night Market

This Asian-themed attraction is well-worth your time and it’s Metro Vancouver’s biggest and brightest night market. Here, you can satisfy your cravings for ethnic Asian delicacies, as well as tons of gadgets, clothing and products from the other half of the world. We’ll talk about the dinosaurs, but we wouldn’t want to give the surprise away.

Bands on the Beach

This is exactly what you think it means: bands on the beach, specifically at Harrison Hot Springs. It’s an annual event that brings live music to enthusiasts and fans all around, so you’re welcome to bring your own chair or seating arrangement and get comfy. Of course, you’re going to be at the beach, so if you arrive any earlier, you can always consider going in for a dip first.
