Stanley Park

Capilano Suspension Bridge Park

You’ve probably guessed by now that a suspension bridge is waiting for you, but did you know that it’s actually hanging an awesome 70 meters above the Capilano River? If you’re looking to conquer your fear of heights, this is one way to go about it. After that, you can also pay a visit to the Cliffwalk, a series of suspended and cantilevered walkways above a beautiful rainforest.

Grouse Mountain

It’s only 15 minutes away from Vancouver, but once you get there, you’ll feel like you’re in a whole new world. In the winter, it’s also a popular place for all sorts of winter sports too, so you can see why it’s such an attraction all year round.

VanDusen Botanical Garden

If it’s listed as one of the 10 best public gardens in North America, there’s definitely something worth exploring here. Over 255,000 individual plants are housed in a garden that’s more a work of art than most others. Here, you’ll get to enjoy the splendour of many types of plants due to the unique climate in Vancouver, and you’ll also get to see various types of amphibians and bird species at all times of the year.

Queen Elizabeth Park

Although it’s a known backdrop for wedding photos, it’s also a great place to view many of nature’s spectacular flora. As the highest point in Vancouver, you can also enjoy uninterrupted views of the city, park and mountains on the North Shore. During your visit, do drop by the Bloedel Conservatory, and you can also indulge in other outdoor activities such as picnicking, stargazing, tennis, and many more!

Pacific Spirit Regional Park

All good things in nature can be found in this massive park: beach, forest, wildlife, and plenty more. Here, you’ll get to enjoy the temperate rainforest of the Pacific Northwest and it’s just a stone’s throw away from the University of British Columbia. There are numerous forest trails you can experience (and many are dog-friendly) so do drop by for a stroll or hike and enjoy the majesty of the outdoors all around you.
